How to Make a "Togetherness Dazibao"
Mackenson and his friends are happy to get together. They’d also like to meet other kids. In your messages, a lot of you tell us about meeting others or that you’d like to meet other Tapori kids.
1) Thinking about meeting others:
We invite you to answer the following questions. You can also ask those around you in your neighborhoods, class, or families.
Why do you like to get together?
- What do you need to go meet other children?
- What do you like to do when you meet other children that you don’t know?
- There are children like Mackenson who are often absent, have difficulties participating, or are left out. What can you do to allow them to participate?
2) Write and draw your answers :
To answer these questions, we invite you to create a Togetherness Dazibao. You can add a question to your dazibao for other children to answer.
"Dazibao" is a Chinese word that means writing and drawing in large dimensions what we want to tell others. It can be a text, a poem, a drawing, a collage or any other type of artwork.
You draw, write, paint, or glue on
a large sheet of paper
- a large piece of fabric OR
- a piece of wood
If possible, make your dazibao with dimensions of 24x36 in. (90 x 60 cm). It’s important to take your time and make something beautiful to look at and read. If you draw, you can add a short explanation on another piece of paper if you want.

We would like your dazibaos to be exhibited on October 17, World Day to Overcome Extreme Poverty. If there’s an event near you, you can exhibit it there. If not, send your dazibao to us and we’ll try to make sure that it’s exhibited elsewhere (you can also send us a photo of it). You can also invite other children to make a dazibao with you on that day.
