One morning a boy named André knocked at the window of the volunteers’* office. One of them, Francine was working there.
She looked and saw André.
She smiled and opened the window.
André lifted a bird cage and set it on the windowsill.
* Volunteers are people who work with the Fourth World Movement. They’re men and women who choose to spend all their time fighting extreme poverty.
