Back in Varsaw

Back in Varsaw, we went to see the statue of Janusz Korczak.

Janusz Korczak was a doctor. He was one of the first considering children as people with proper rights, especially the right to be treated with respect. His way of thinking and doing had a great impact on the children he knew, and also on children all over the world. He died in 1942, during the Second World War, but he still has an influence today.

Together, the Irish delegation, two Polish delegations and part of the Swiss and French delegations met Machek Michalak, the Polish children’s ombudsman. We offered him a friendship’s vehicle we made in Miercerzyn and we read our message. He listened attentively and he was very touched. He promised to support us for the meeting in Geneva.
