Central African Republic - Bangui

In Central Africa silhouettes are called "Djiangoula." Children got together to do their silhouettes on the International Day of the Family in May 2007.

Children of Bangui wrote in their messages that they would like all children to go to school, would like everyone to be honest, and to be able to live well together. They would also like everybody to love each other so that there is peace.

The Djiangoula day is like a big tree: families rest under its shadow hand in hand to lead the fight against poverty. It is not war-it is through art. The day is not finished. We are thirsty to be together and with our families.
